- Weight: Checking your dog’s weight for changes
- Temperature: Checking your dog’s temperature

- Mouth and teeth: Checking for tartar build-up, gum disease, or broken teeth
- Skin: Checking for oiliness, dryness, dandruff, or lumps
- Gait and stance: Checking for irregularities in how your dog walks and stands
- Heart and Lung Health: Listening to your dog’s heart for abnormalities like heart murmurs and lungs for abnormal breathing patterns.

Parasite and heartworm screenings
- Your veterinarian may check for internal parasites and heartworms with a stool sample and blood sample. Wellness Bloodwork
Discounted wellness bloodwork is available during your dog’s wellness exam. We offer two discounted blood panels with CBC, depending on your dog’s age. Blood Panel Tests are run in-house, and you will receive a printed copy of your dog’s results with your veterinarian’s explanation during your visit. There is no need to call back in 24-48 hours for your pet’s bloodwork results. We will give you the results on the same day.
A Written Discharge Plan for your pet
You will receive a complete copy of our dog’s exam findings written by your veterinarian that includes: any prescribed medications and the dosing, any necessary follow-up visits, and your doctor’s plan for your dog going forward. Providence Animal Hospital & Pet Resort’s written Discharge Plan is not a generic check the box sheet, but it is customized to the findings of your dog’s wellness exam and is an integral part of a complete AAHA exam experience.
